THE ROLE OF HRM IN EMPLOYER BRAND

 

Brand is vital to the success of a business organization because it is related to its survival in the competitive business environment. Human resource Management (HRM) is important in sharping and promoting the employer brand of an organization. An employer brand is essential for the reputation of an organization, as an employer and it significantly influence its ability to attach, retain and engage talent. A strong employer brand is essential for attracting, retaining, and engaging top talent, which is essential for the organization success and sustainability (Alshauaibi, 2024).  

Human Resource Management is important in promoting the unique organizational culture of an organization. This includes develop a culture of sustainability, ethical practices and community engagement. HR initiatives such as employee training programe, ongoing training and team building activities, help instill these values in employees. Via promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture, HRM enhance the company reputation as an appropriate place to work (Antonios Kargas, 2020)

A positive employee practice is heart of a strong employer brand. Human Resources managements of an organization must ensure that employees feel valued and supported through comprehensive onboarding processes, regular professional development opportunities, continues professional development and regular feedback system. Initiatives such as employee recognition programe wellness initiatives and open communication channels contribute significantly to employee satisfaction and loyalty (Parmar, 2014).

CSR activities significantly impact the employer brand of an organization. HRM ensure that the organization CSR initiatives such as community development, projects environmental sustainability efforts, ethical business practices, are well publicized and aligned with the company values. Engaging employees in CSR activities not only boost morale but also enhance the company image as a socially responsible employer (Balu.L, 2017).  

Creating and communicating the employer value proposition of a company is responsible of HRM. This involves highlighting the company commitment to sustainability, community development and employee well-being. Effective recruitment marketing strategies including engaging job advertisements, active social media presence and participation in job fairs help attract top talent with the company values and goal (Turk, 2021). 

Also HRM is prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion, recognizing that a diverse workforce contributes to innovation and organizational success. Implementing unbiased recruitment processes, providing DEI training, and ensuring inclusive polices help create a welcoming environment for all employees. This commitment to DEI enhance the employer brand via placing the company as a fair and comprehensive employer.   













Case Study

"Dell technology is global technology company with over 150000 employees across 180 locations. With team member in almost 180 – 200 locations around the world Dell Technologies struggled to create employer brand content that worked both universally and locally. Dell technology had worked with Stories in the year before create recruitment marketing content to attract women in tech, intern in US. As their strategy the employers brand team knew that a story based and employee driven methodology would again be the best way to show the Dell Technologies employee experience throughout the world. The stories team visited each region and interviewed story tellers. During the interview 67 employees shared their experience to create around key pillars of the Dell Technologies employer brand" (Human resource today, 2024).

Microsoft’s branding strategy primarily focusses on harnessing social media. This technology giant has a huge internet presence spanning LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  

Its Instagram account has over three million followers, which they use to connect with users and share important company accouchements. Microsoft also has a blog that gives candidates a sneak peek at their work culture.

Companies use social networking sites like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook to reach out to its current and perspective employees through employer branding. Microsoft and Google are leading in development employer brand. Multiple videos on YouTube about life in the company, various initiatives, blogs, You Tube channels, Facebook pages and many more are the initiatives taken by these companies for creating and influential brand. 

Google emerges world’s most attractive employer (Survey)

Google continues to be hot favorite for career seekers as the company has emerged as the world most attractive employer, says a survey. According to global employer branding firm Universum’s global talent attraction index “The work most attractive Employer”, Google has retained the top position in both category Business & Engineering.  

The Google fever is still hot, Students are attracted by Google’s relaxed are creative work environment, international atmosphere and innovative products. Google offers great benefits and opportunities that are hard for others companies to match in the business category, Google has blocked the top rank (whatishumanresource, 2024).     

Conclusion

Contribution of Human Resource Management is important in promoting and sustaining the employer brand of an organization. Via attracting top talent, engaging in CSR, managing employee relations, enhancing employee experience and promoting organizational culture, Human Resource department and professionals ensure that the company is seen as a desirable and reputable employer. This strong employer brand is essential for long term success and sustainability of an organization, enabling it to attract and retain the talent necessary to achieve its strategic objectives.
